Meet The EB Ranch Farmstead San Clemente Island Goat herd.
In early 2024 I made a decision to focus primarily on preserving and growing the Tepper Line San Clemente Island goats. That meant shrinking my large herd down to just 15 goats. Along with the Tepper Line preservation project, I’m also working with other breeders on incredibly uncommon color variations found in this breed. Including white/cream and black and “self-black”. Understanding these color genetics, and making genetic material more widely available may help us understand the SCI goat breed better.
There are currently seven breeding does and potentially 4 breeding buck plus two wethers and a few does that have aged out of breeding.
If you are interested in raising San Clemente Island goats, feel free to get a hold of me at ebranchllc@gmail.com I will be happy to talk to you about Tepper Line preservation, and introduce you to the San Clemente Island Goat Breeders Association.

Woodland Star is a lovely wethered buck who came from the Miller Park Zoo. He sometimes comes to events as the Yule Goat. He loves attention, but not for very long periods of time.
Uff-da is still intact, but will be wethered as soon as we collect semen from him. I have hopes to work with him to be a mascot at events.
Luigi is the bestest little boy. He is a wethered buck that comes to many events. Often dressed up as the Yule Goat. Luigie LOVES butt scratches and hugs.
Iskomet is the king of boundaries. He is a wethered buck that came to live out his days from the Miller Park Zoo. He seems well-suited for farm life, and is glad to keep petting to a minimum. But does occasionally ask for a butt scratch.
Julbukk is a wethered buck that came to live out his days from the Miller Park Zoo. This handsome fella enjoys the company of humans. And all the treats and butt scratches that come with it. Look out for Julbukk during in-person events. Both he and Luigi display a beautiful dark red color and may make a great pair at events.
2025 Breeding Plans For Early Spring Kidding In 2026
Backup bucks will be BV Zucherro or using Alphonse more with Tepper does. Sometimes, does can be picky about what bucks breed with them. And some bucks can be very shy. Or sometimes does just don't take with breeding. So having backups is important.
Breeding is scheduled to begin mid October and wrap up mid November 2025. I will use CIDR's to help bring the whole doe herd into cycle together. This will make a more predictable kidding window that aligns will with my off-farm work.
