Walking Away From Social Media
The last few years have shown me how fickle social media can be. I lost my original EB Ranch Farmstead page on Facebook due to someone spamming it and no real human was available to help me reclaim this page. It’s still floating around, with no administrator. I suppose someone could claim ownership and take it over. Which would lead to who knows what kind of chaos.
To be frank, I’m burnt out on social media. I think much of it has roots in being a business that was desperately trying to “make it”. And I did “make it”. I created a fine goat milk soap business from scratch with no debt. I started a targeted grazing business and more. But things changed, even against my wishes, and despite my hard work, events forced me to change. But it’s up to me to make the new changes I see fit in my life. I want to walk forward knowing I’m doing everything I can to make the change I want. Though I know the best-laid plans can always fail.
The shift to move everything to the EB Ranch Farmstead website is in full swing. I no longer run a business that is my major and sometimes only income. Instead, it has become something of a conservation farm. With a focus on San Clemente Island goat projects, such as line preservation and digging deeper into some of the unknowns about this critically endangered breed. With full transparency and willingness to share my experiences using them as a platform for my actual farm business in the past.
I plan on sharing articles on my website from other rural writers that I think are important. Not to mention my own day-to-day life on the farmstead. All of this is presented in either long-form through my blog, or short-form through the Everyday EB Ranch.
So put on your goat-inspired party pants and make visiting this website part of your routine. And always feel free to contact me at ebranchllc@gmail.com
